What We Believe

The Bible is God's revelation of Himself and His will to humanity. It is the authoritative Word of salvation and does not fail in it's promises, provisions, or prophecies.  It is the completely reliable Word of God.

God is self-existent and eternal. He is the Creator of all things in the heaven and in earth.  God is a trinity of persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Christ Jesus is God, the Son, born into this world through the virgin Mary.  He lived a sinless life, doing only what his Father willed.  He died in our place rose from the grave bodily, ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father.  He is our mediator and intercedes for us.  He promised to return to earth to receive His church to Himself and to judge the wicked.

The first man, Adam, was created innocent but through disobedience became a transgressor and fell from grace. The result of his sin was spiritual death, which is separation from God and physical death.

Jesus is the Lamb of God sacrificed for the sins of the world.  His blood was shed so that sinful humanity would not have to die for their sins.  Because of his sacrifice, forgiveness and the promise of eternal life are available to all that will believe on Him.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God.  He is the person of the Trinity that accomplishes God's will and Word.  He is the power of God. and the One who convinces us that we have sinned,  that we need the righteousness of God, and that God's judgement is imminent. He enables us to believe, gives us a new nature, the One who teaches us all things and who exalts Jesus. He comforts us and stands alongside of us and fills us with the power of God and empowers those who speak or act in the name of Christ Jesus.

The Church is composed of all that trust in Christ Jesus as their Savior.  God takes up residence in individual Christians and is in the midst of the gathered church.  The church is called the Body of Christ and the Bride of Christ.   Our love and devotion is His alone and we are callled to be faithful in all things.

The Lord's Supper, or communion, is celebrated as an act of remembrance of the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice for us. Communion reminds us of the gospel by which we are saved and of the common union all believers have in Christ Jesus.

Baptism is the first witness a believer gives to the world.  In baptism, a bliever identifies with Christ's death, burial and resurrection.  It is a picture declaration that the believer died with Christ, is buried with Christ and is risen with Christ.   Baptism signifies that he no longer lives, but it is Christ that lives within Him and the life he now lives is a life of faith.

The bodily resurrection of believers from the grave is guaranteed by the fact of the bodily resurrection of Christ Jesus.  When Christ returns to claim His church, the dead will be resurrected and those who are still alive will be changed, then all will be caught up together to be with Him.

Healing of the mind and body is available to all that call upon the Name of the Lord.  Christ Jesus while on earth, went about healing all who were oppressed of the devil.  The Bible declares that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Christ does not change... what He did in the past, He will do now and in the future.  Christ Jesus is the Lord our God that heals us.

God is our Provider. Whatever our necessity, He is willing to provide if we call upon Him in agreement with His Word without doubting.
